Meet our people

Rune Knudsen, PLC Technician

Twenty-one years ago, Rune joined DCB with his electrician’s certificate in hand, and since then, his carrer within DCB has evolved. Today, he is a PLC technician, programming and updating the advanced control systems for DCB cranes every day. The tasks are very diverse and take place both in Denmark and abroad.

My work life is very varied and exciting. I can be at the computer programming or out where the cranes are set up and everything needs to run smoothly. I plan my day in collaboration with our team leader and our customers. There is great freedom with responsibility here, and it’s fantastic.”

Marie Ottilia Frederiksen, an apprentice as a Technical Designer from Tech College Aalborg

At Danish Crane Building, we have a tradition of welcoming students and apprentices. We want everyone to have a good start to their career through solid training and the opportunity to turn theory into practice. Marie is a great example of this. She is studying to become a Technical Designer and started her apprenticeship with us in March 2024.

Marie says: "I am really happy with my apprenticeship at DCB. Here, I get to dive into relevant programs and help with drawings for production. It's not always easy, and that's exactly why it's so important that we get out and try it in the real world instead of just sitting in the classroom. It provides a lot of specific knowledge, which makes it easier for us to find jobs afterwards."

In the summer of 2026, Marie will graduate, but at DCB, the good cooperation does not necessarily end when the apprenticeship certificate is in hand. We do our best to support our students and apprentices all the way and maybe even welcome them as permanent employees in the future.
